Learn To Row Camps

Summer is a great time to experience rowing on Lake Monona and Monona Bay. We offer recreational summer programs that provide area youth the chance to learn rowing for the first time or to continue developing their rowing skills. Our camps take a creative approach to the fundamentals of rowing for all experience levels.

Designed with the developing athlete in mind, our camps prioritize fun methods of learning through boat tricks, games, and more. All athletes, from the true novice to the experienced, will develop a better understanding of rowing while becoming comfortable and confident. Skill development will focus on the fundamentals of the rowing stroke. Our camps include dry-land training and educational activities geared towards developing the whole athlete. This includes but is not limited to safety, team building, and general fitness.

Our summer camps are geared towards rising 6th through 12th grade athletes. We aim to group our campers with others their age and skill level as well as with their friends.

All camps will be centered around the following:

  • FUNdamentals: Learning the basics of rowing while being outside and on calm waters of Lake Monona.

  • Health & Wellness: These camps center around the athlete as a whole to ensure that the athletes progress and have long-term success.

  • Teamwork: Rowing is the ultimate team sport. Understanding how to work together to achieve one’s goals is key in rowing.

The daily schedule will include a warm-up, rowing instruction and practice, an activity focused on team-work, and stretching.

We typically post registration information for summer Learn To Row camps on the Register page of our website in February.
