A tremendous amount of positive feedback comes from rowers and their families regarding the Camp Randall’s programs. Most parents agree that the junior rowing program helps give their kids a sense of belonging, increased responsibility and heightened maturity- while having a lot of fun.
It’s shown that young adults that participate in rowing tend to excel academically, and in fact, there have been a number of our Camp Randall’s Junior rowers who have been admitted at premiere colleges and universities across the country and many with rowing scholarships. These include the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Harvard, Vassar, Bard, University of Texas, Tulane, Wesleyan, Carleton, Boston University, NYU, Duke, Brown, Columbia, University of Iowa, University of Minnesota, Beloit College, Northland College, Denison University, Syracuse University and many other fine institutions around the country.
One of the CRRC rowers put together a video that has some footage of Spring Training and some reflections on what rowing has meant to some rowers. It was originally prepared for the 2009 Spring Parent meeting.
