Sydney Wallner

SWallner.JPGSydney Wallner started rowing as a novice in 2003 at Mendota Rowing Club. A year later she was a founding member of the Camp Randall Rowing Club. She was a varsity coxwain for four years of high school, coxsing mostly the Varsity girls 4+ and Varsity girls 8+. Coach Wallner's high school rowing experience was "absolutely wonderful ... I made life long friends and also gained extremely useful leadership skills." While attending Madison Area Technical College, she did some assistant coaching for CRRC, and is now the CRRC Novice girls coach. She is now an undergraduate at UW - Madison studying Geology and Geophysics.

Kerry Bryan

Kerry_Bryan_coxn.jpgJoining the CRRC coaching staff this fall 2009 is Kerry Bryan who will be the junior girls assistant varsity coach. Coach Bryan is a former coxswain for the St Louis Rowing Club and UW men's and women's crews. She coxed 4.5 years in high school for both junior girls and boys as well as learn to row and master's women and men. She coxed for UW for her first two years of college and spent one summer on the men's team where she won the Canadian Henley. She has coxed nearly every race in the Midwest as well as some big races like Junior Nationals, Head of the Hooch, Head of the Charles, summer Nationals, and the Canadian Henley.

She's always wanted to coach juniors. Her experience in high school rowing was amazing and she wants other kids to experience the same journey she did. She graduated from UW in the  spring 2008 and works at Wisconsin Distributors in Sun Prairie.

Russell Budell

Russell Budell joined CRRC in the Fall of 2009 as the Novice Boys Coach. Coach Budell began his rowing career in his home town of Tallahassee, Florida. A four-year varsity rower in high school, Russell developed an insatiable passion for the sport at an early age. He moving to Madison to begin his studies at the University of Wisconsin in the fall of 2005 and is pursuing a degree in Political Science from UW.  Prior to joining CRRC’s coaching staff, Russell was the Junior Boys coach at Mendota Rowing Club.
