Dear Camp Randall Rowing Club Rower and Family, 

We are about to embark on our most important fundraiser of the year – our annual erg-a-thon.  We hope to raise $15,000 this year to help purchase a new (used) boat as well as a used truck to haul our boats to the regattas.  Success is dependent on the participation of each rower and their family.  To that end, we are asking each rower to raise $250 for the erg-a-thon. This can be done in a number of ways.  You can collect sponsorships from friends, family, fellow students, businesses, and just about anybody else that is willing to help our club. 

The kick-off for the erg-a-thon begins January 11^th and culminates on March 3^rd at Hilldale Mall from 4 to 6 pm where our rowers will be rowing 10,000 meters.  Please encourage your sponsors to come to the event!   

Enclosed in this packet you will find: 

1. A sponsorship sheet – use this to record donations from people whom you speak to in person, and collect their donation at the time they pledge.  You can also use this sheet to record donations that you receive from any solicitation letter you mailed. We accept cash, and checks made payable to Camp Randall Rowing Club.  CRRC is a non-profit organization, and therefore donations are fully tax-deductible.
2. A solicitation letter.  This can be used to mail to friends and family who live out of town and may be willing to sponsor you in the erg-a-thon.  We are encouraging rowers to mail 10 of these solicitation letters.   Copies can be printed directly from our website – www.camprandallrc.org - and then mailed.  Be sure to hand-sign the bottom of the flyer and include your self-addressed envelope!
3. Ten self-addressed envelopes. The envelopes should be included with your solicitation letter that you mail to encourage people to return their pledge.

After the erg-a-thon is complete, the team will address and sign sponsor Thank You letters at a time to be determined.
