Perfect for individuals wishing to focus on recreational rowing in downtown Madison. Easy access to boathouse, dock and water. We have a roomy boathouse and a convenient rack system. You'll have access to both Lake Monona and Monona Bay (always rowable water), as well as unrestricted access to the boathouse, dock and water. We are a friendly and supportive club.

We do not store canoes or kayaks at the boathouse. The City of Madison Parks Division offers a variety of locations for Madison residents and non-residents to store their canoes and kayaks. Click here for information.

The Brittingham Boathouse is on North Shore Drive, just before it intersects John Nolen Drive. It is right across the road from the Findorff headquarters.

As far as rowing goes, it's a great location. Even in a Force 10 gale, the water on Monona Bay will be rowable if need be. On lighter wind days, especially the typical Westerly days, The entire North and West shores of Lake Monona Proper will be accessible. Sneaking under the John Nolen Drive causeway will be tight, but we've already measured it out. It is wide enough.
